Keys cars are met on the mainland near Homestead, because a nine-car rig has no business on the Overseas Highway.
2. The Southeast run. I-95 through Jacksonville, Savannah, Florence, and Fayetteville, where a driver banks miles.
3. Richmond to Baltimore. Richmond, the I-495 Capital Beltway, and the Baltimore approaches are where schedules slip; the wrong hour on a Friday costs an afternoon.
4. Around New York. Car haulers do not thread Manhattan. The standard move is the New Jersey Turnpike north, then I-287 west over the Hudson on the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, rejoining I-95 in lower Westchester.
5. Into Massachusetts. I-95 through Bridgeport, New Haven, New London, and Providence. Boston, Quincy, and the North Shore come off I-95 and I-93. Worcester loads often peel onto I-395 at the Connecticut shoreline up to I-90. Springfield comes up I-91, and Berkshire County takes the Mass Pike west toward Lee and Pittsfield.

Where trucks load in Florida

Carriers build loads where the cars are: the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach corridor first, then Orlando, Tampa-St. Petersburg, and Jacksonville. Pickups in those metros catch a truck already coming through. Outside them the math changes: the Panhandle is genuinely a different lane, since a car in Pensacola or Destin runs east on I-10 to Lake City before the northbound trip even starts.
